Decorating Using Margarita Glasses

Margarita glass or elegant candle holder? Margarita glasses aren’t only for drinking! Create an intimate and classy atmosphere at your wedding reception using personalized margarita glasses as candles. These personalized candles are often cheaper than their store-bought counterparts, and they’re certainly more personalized and elegant!

After you have printed personalized margarita glasses for your wedding, gather a team of helpers to work on these cheaper-than-you-thought candles with you. Maybe you could even gather up your bridesmaids for a pre-wedding candle-creating party.

Purchase bagged candle wax from your local crafts store. The candle wax is cheap and should cost less than $30 for enough to fill about 73 margarita glasses. Along with the candle wax, purchase some wax coloring and scents. While the wax scents should be the same for each candle you use at your wedding reception, the colors can vary from candle to candle. Also purchase candle wicks, which come attached as one long rope.

Once you have all of your materials together, gather your girlfriends together in your kitchen for your wedding reception decoration party. Boil some water on your stove in a double boiler. Pour the wax into the top pan. The wax should come out as a powdery substance, but will quickly melt to become liquid wax.

Once all of our wax has been melted down to liquid form, throw in a color tablet. Note: the colors you use for the candles should be the same as the colors in the theme of your wedding. Stir the color into the wax until it is all dissolved.

Next, throw in a scent tablet, if you’ve decided to use one. Stir the scent around the wax until it is dissolved. Once you’re satisfied that all of your ingredients are suitably mixed together, place a wick into a margarita glass and cut the tip just beneath the rim of the glass. You will need the help of your girlfriends for the next part.

As one of your girlfriend holds the wick straight up and down in the center of the personalized margarita glass, have another friend pour the hot wax into the glass. Pour down one side so that the liquid doesn’t form bubbles. Repeat the procedure with each glass until they are all filled.
